The Dankles first and foremost is a site where you can not only find music, videos, interviews, and event info on the freshest musical artists out there today, but is also dedicated to spotlighting up and coming talent that we feel deserve a shout. Every Friday, we will be delivering our Fresh Pickn’s of the week with hopes that this start can help you spread your name. So please, if you, your friends, your neighbor, your local dealer, or your 7th grade Science teacher has any music they’ve created that you think we should put on the site; then please feel free to get at us via Facebook, Twitter, or email (firstname.lastname@example.org) with your track(s) and links to your social media page(s) along with photo so we can give you a shout!
The Bolivian Marching Affair
It’s damn near refreshing to see the East Coast making some noise in the world of dubstep since everything seems to be flowing from distant lands such as Texas, the UK, and Cali these days. The Bolivian Marching Affair went on a earbud slaying spree last year by doing some serious touch up work to a handful of tracks and each and every time the end result was a bonafide banger. This latest track to one of my OG rap favorites from back in the day is no exception and with an EP in the works we expect big things coming from TBMA in 2012!
Philadelphia has a bad rap of being a rough city due to its strong mob-related activity, close proximity to Jersey, and consistently failing in all sports besides baseball, but that doesn’t stop the Architekt from putting out dub-filled masterpieces on the regs. (Seriously, this guys work ethic is freaking insane) We’ve seen this up and coming producer fine-tune his style over the last few months and feel like it’s time for him to get a proper shout. Keep and eye out for more good things to come.
We could go on and on about how awesome Chicago is for not only being a must stop on any EDC artists tour, but for also housing a group of next level DJs that are bound for big things in 2012. I first heard of SoOhSixx when starting at The Dankles after a friend passed along his Brostep is so 06 mixtape that had me going HAM on my daily commute to work and to boost his cred. even further, was one of the most downloaded mixes we’ve featured on the website. His latest remix hit our ear’s last week along with the news of an opening set for the Downlink and Cenob1te show TONIGHT; with this many big things happening we expect to be seeing and hearing a whole lot more from this Chicagoan!
“A chance is a chance no matter what the outcome may be,” is a statement that no particularly famous person has said, but couldn’t be truer after taking a listen to Scar3crow’s musical offerings. Very little is known about this Indiana native, but after listening to this track submission I was surprised to find myself busting a groove from The Dankles headquarters. Far from a finished project, we look forward to seeing what the Scar3crow can produce this year and who knows; this might be the start of big things to come.
