I couldn’t help but think of “Apache (Jump On It)” when I came across this Melbourne producing duo called Trumpdisco. This track has a similar drum sound to the famous tonto-jump-on-it, yet makes me want to get up and dance harder than Carlton did in his version on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air back in the day. Trumpdisco and AirWolf utilize a lethal combination of Caribbean-sounding drum/bass sounds and bubbling wobbles that make this electronic track a new favorite for any time I need a pick-me-up and put me in a good mood instantly. Trumpdisco have taken their music across Europe, Asia, and New Zealand and with a tour planned in the states this upcoming summer, you can expect big things from this dynamic duo in the future!
I fell into this track like Alice down the rabbit hole. Matt Cavender is the producer known as XKore, who takes us on a wild Drum & Bass ride with this original track. He has been producing for about four years out of Kent, UK and on this journey takes us through several stages of wild beats that makes me feel happily lost in a never-ending forest. He has a well-paced structure for the track and the build-up leads to an unbelievable blow out with some hard-slamming growls. XKore lays it down with this one and starts the week off right with what he describes as “lazers and bass” – a perfect combo that will have you feeling like you’re in Wonderland in no time flat.
Beat Mafia has had us party people jumping for years, but this remix of Trumpets on Heat by 3hundreds could be my best latest discovery. This group hailing from Sydney has been slammin’ beats ever since they stepped onto the scene in 2009. The “home-grown” house scene comes full circle on this high-energy remix that’ll keep you movin’. Every time I listen to this track my brain and body go into a trance until the song ends and I realize my mind has been blown away by five minutes of pure bliss.
Bar9 is a duo that an English mate of mine rants about lately, but when I heard their new track this week I quickly knew why. This pair of geniuses is well-known in their home of Leicester, UK, but is new to my ears. An original beat has an intensely huge build up that does not disappoint with a bass blasting drop and sick finish. Bar9 will blow your socks off and your speakers out with this one, literally.
