Here’s a new track off of Troy Ave’s new project, Bricks in the Backpack 3. This combination of talented Brooklyn MC’s, not to mention the DJ Uneek beat, come together to make one of my favorite New York hip hop songs in a while. This is that raw New York boom-bap that’s becoming more and more rare. I know I’ve posted a few Action Bronson songs and I praise the hell out of him, but if you like him check out this song, no one on this track is messing around. From first to last this song is exactly what you want to hear if you like classic NY rappers. I consider myself a hip hop snob and this song has gotten multiple plays in the last few hours. Keep an eye on these guys in 2012, with the likes of everyone on this track and A$AP Rocky, New York hip hop is going to make a well deserved comeback. Check out this XXL interview with almost all of these guys.

PS – Avon Blocksdale might be my favorite rap name ever
