So this one is a mouthful to say- first, Conor Oberst (from Bright Eyes), Jim James (from My Morning Jacket), and more formed the supergroup Monsters of Folk and recorded the beautiful “Dear God.” Then, rap group The Roots sampled the song and turned it into an inspirational rap song, and now heavy hitters Zeds Dead have changed the song one more time, adding some bass and wobbles over the Roots’ version. The song somehow maintains a chill vibe with Zeds Dead’s signature dubstep sounds, and is without a doubt the newest addition to my snowboarding playlist. And in case you missed it, Zeds Dead were one of today’s announcements for Global Dance Festival at Red Rocks this July along with Above & Beyond and Knife Party.
