Hailing from southern France, Amine Edge has been offering a unique hip-hop twist on the growing deep house scene. Teaming up with fellow Frenchman and hip-hop producer, D.A.N.C.E., the two have been at the head of the “Gangsta House” movement, in which they incorporate the bass elements of deep house with 80’s and 90’s hip hop to create an extremely distinctive sound (i.e. the Ibiza classic “Going to Heaven With the Goodie Goodies”, where they sample Biggie Smalls over a heavy deep house beat). Initially releasing albums on Home’s Art Music, he has recently been signed by the likes of Solomun’s 2DIY4 and Noir’s Noir Music labels to name a few. Currently working on his first full-length album with D.A.N.C.E., Amine Edge offers a free download on his soundcloud almost once a week, including live sets from around the globe. Remixing everyone from Daft Punk to Azealia Banks to Jamie Jones (including the personal favorite, Things I Didn’t Know I Loved) Amine Edge has shown he can be extremely diverse and is sure to be a household name in years to come. Below are some select sexy bass-heavy tracks. Be sure to use quality speakers when listening to these dancefloor burners!
