Yes, you read right, Super Disco Hyphy. San Francisco producer DJ B.Cause fuses the two unlikely genres (disco and hyphy) in this absolutely bangin 70 minute mix. The mix originally came out in 2006, when the hyphy phenomenon was still spreading like wildfire, and it offered a completely different interpretation to the usual heavy trunk shaking hyphy sound. Combining the gritty, thizzy, hyphy vocals of the Bay Area’s finest (including E-40, Keak da Sneak, Mistah FAB, and Mac Dre to name a few) with 1980’s disco sounds (complete with the signature synth stabs, funky basslines, and the jazzy drums of disco), B.Cause offers up a truly unique sound. Perfect for any party,  I have yet to meet a person who does not like this mix. Best part is, it’s up for free download below! More recently, DJ B.Cause has been focusing his energy on a more soulful musical route, adding 70’s soul touches to some classic rap songs, as well as releasing a line of great classic soul mixes entitled Soul Boulders 1 & 2. The most recent mix, Soul Boulders 2 (which is up for free download below as well) includes the likes of Curtis Mayfield, Otis Redding and Sam Cooke all mixed together skillfully that really gets me deep in my soul. There really isn’t a bad song on this entire mix. As far as content goes, these are two unbelievable mixes and are definitely not something to miss out on.
