Holy shit, the NastyFunk crew killed it on this one! NastyFunk Records (run by Hendriks and Erik Christiansen) are attempting to push the ever-evolving and progressing movement of deep house/nu-disco, and that’s precisely what they did with this album. NastyCutz by NastyFunk came out today and as the name implies, this album is filled with nasty, funky basslines up and down. There is honestly not a bad song on this whole compilation, which spans into the realms of everything from disco to deep house to dark tech.

“Generation” by We Are Cassandre starts the album off with a soulful house song, which lulls and draws you into the LP. Then, exploding into life, “Disco Shiz” by Los Rombos contains an amazing sample from the movie “Blow” and drops into some seriously nasty, filthy nu-disco. Continuing with this 80’s vibe, DJ Glen dishes out an amazing disco contribution with the track “Hold Your Pants.” The compilation continues to take you on a dark adventure through deeper and deeper house tunes. Having dropped their first release earlier this year, I’ve added some highlights of what I think are NastyFunk’s best EPs thus far, as well as the first NastyCast, a free nu-disco mix done by DJ Glen. Listen to this with some quality headphones, because the basslines are unbelievable.
