Garage rock has never sounded so appealing. King Tuff is one of those bands that you feel like you have heard before, but then get super stoked upon finding out that you haven’t. Fronted by Kyle Thomas (former frontman of Witch, a band best known for their drummer, J Mascis), King Tuff is one of the happiest garage rock groups I have come by in a very long time. Their music makes you want to drink cheap beer on a stained couch in a basement and rock out with your best friends. They offer a sense of nostalgia in their catchy lo-fi jams that require a start to finish album play. I was lucky enough to catch these dudes while they were in New York for CMJ inside of a packed sweaty warehouse in Brooklyn, which was quite fitting. Their show was insanity; I definitely left with bruises all over my body and the graphic memory of some drunk bro nose diving off of a speaker straight to the ground.

If you’re into Ty Segall, Thee Oh Sees, or Jay Reatard... then make sure you listen to King Tuff! They’re killing it, and this will not be the first time you will hear about ’em! Be sure to check out their self titled album, King Tuff, and listen to some sample tracks below!

Also be sure to check out King Tuff’s tour dates and newly released jam, “Screaming Skull”  fresh off of their new 7″ here.
