big boi

It seems that Outkast‘s Big Boi has taken a recent interest in indie music, and personally I could not be more excited and supportive of it. It started with a collaboration with Little Dragon (see them perform “Mama Told Me” together live here) and was followed by an announcement of features on the new album that included NY duo Phantogram. Now that the track his surfaced online, it’s better than I even imagined because Big Boi decided to include A$AP Rocky on the it, and I’m a huge sucker for A$AP features. Pretty Flacko starts off the track with a great verse including everything we love from the Harlem rapper, including the pitched-down vocal loops and voice switch-ups. Sarah Barthel (of Phantogram) kills it with the incredibly catchy hook, and then Big Boi comes in to prove that he won’t be outdone on his own track with the best verse we’ve heard from him in a while.
