Over the past few weeks, I’ve had a slight obsession with super down-tempo, atmospheric beats. A few weeks back, this Los Angeles magic maker took my ears by storm. First hearing eaves on a compilation, I was soon lead to his previous release, Hiking Trails (find it for free on his Bandcamp) which was choke full of textured synths, soothing birds, and a soft giggling of children. This most recent LP, titled You, journeys down a bit of a different path, but, nonetheless, it is a beautiful adventure through the misty, mossy woods of the West. We still get all the atmosphere and texture I have grown to love from him, but with a bit of variation as he slides in everything from soothing strings to uptempo basslines. Needless to say, if you’re a fan of Emancipator, Shlohmo, Baths, or any of that downtempo ish, this will be right up your alley. Find the album below, which can be yours with a $1 donation, as well as a little free download eaves put up on his SoundCloud.
