Paper Diamond‘s Elm & Oak label is responsible for some of the best albums to come out in electronic music in recent years, and two of the highlights have been Cherub‘s MoM and DaD and Two Fresh‘s Baker’s Dozen. These albums were incredibly different from each other but both stood out in their respective genres from the competition- Cherub does 80’s avant-garde sex-pop better than anyone still making music, and Two Fresh make hip-hop beats that Flying Lotus would respect. The two duos decided to come together to create a collaborative EP that is sexy, dark, and will have you hitting repeat over and over again. Cherub‘s high-pitched vocals compliment the minimal drum beats created by Denver’s Two Fresh and I couldn’t pick a favorite out of the three songs- they combine my favorite parts of both acts into one very unique release.
Two Fresh and Cherub are playing a show together at the Bluebird in Denver on December 15th- don’t miss this amazing opportunity to see these artists perform their new tracks together live.
