As if the high-energy original brought to us by Congorock and the “Dutty King” himself, Sean Paul wasn’t enough, this remix pack goes even further and raises the bar a few notches, which seems impossible (but mission accomplished!). Enlisting a pack of some of my favorites including Clockwork, GTA, Valentino Khan, Ookay, Torro Torro and Firebeatz; the slew of ridiculous talent is an unstoppable force with this remix pack. Clockwork’s version is self-described as “quack house”, maybe because the audio orgasm is caused by a recurring synth and snare pattern that resembles a quacking duck. GTA hosts a darker more dubsteppish version with wobbles a plenty throughout. Valentino Khan’s interpretation is a mixture of tempos and sounds, with a dash of moombahton here, a dash of dirty dutch there, and is my favorite of the bunch because of the way it ping pongs back and forth through the spectrum so sensefully (which is no easy feat). Torro Torro goes a little spacey and futuristic bass on us while Ookay stays trappin’ with the quick rolling drumlines, percussion and heavy bass. Firebeatz rounds out the remix pack with a more complex track that goes through the motions of a progressive house track formed by many layers. Any way you slice it, this track is a hit, and with so many different successful varieties of the original, I’m certain we’ll be hearing this one live until well after the snow melts.
