Beginning to make a splash in this huge pool of a scene that we have in Manhattan is the fam over at Feral Muzik. Today we have the pleasure of introducing you guys to one of the label’s artists, Star Falcon, as he releases his lately original track with us entitled “Oregak”. The pure moombah joint is set at the standard 110 bpm rate and features some elements not usually incorporated into moombahton that makes for an authentic release. Infusing a pinch of middle eastern influence, Star Falcon builds the intro with instrumentals were not used to, reminiscent of the saz & qanoun strings used often in countries like Turkey, and the riq, a percussional instrument native to Egypt, Lebanon, and beyond (click here to check out a riq example). The track melts into a lazerish assault mid-way through, popping with plenty of synth stabs paired with the harmonious bassline that brings the track together in its composition. This new style of moombah has the explorative element that we’ve been wanting, a deviation from the “formula” and the incorporation of unexpected and new worldly sounds. After all, moombahton is a mélange of different and once separate worlds. Be sure to grab this one for free and keep Feral Muzik’s releases on your radar, they have a lot in store for us for 2013; including more from Star Falcon and their other artists, Mischief and Lowbo.
