Boulder’s very own Be Good has come a long way from when we first featured him in our Fresh Pickn’s Friday this summer, opening up for big names such as Danny Brown and Schoolboy Q. He ever has an upcoming opening slot for Candyland at Cervantes. Since we have last heard from him, he has been busy readying an EP with all new material, for which he will be playing guitar on all of the tracks. The first release, “Can’t Turn Back,” (released on Inside Your Eardrums Vol.1) intrigued us with a new sound, and now he has really solidified his new style with “Morning Frost,” an eight-minute track that showcases his talents.
Combining Mobb Deep samples, pitched-up chopped vocals, and smooth guitar, the first half plays out as a song to chill out to. Then around the halfway mark, we see a huge funky drop that we’re used to seeing from GRiZ and the Pretty Lights Music cohorts. Don’t miss Be Good bring his guitar to drop these new songs with Candyland at Cervantes on 2/7 (get all your info on the event here.)
