The Hot Waves compilation series has quickly become a favorite throughout the deep house scene, showcasing rising new stars as well as veterans in albums that are consistently jam-packed with some of the best nu-disco and deep house tracks out. Usually being on the relatively lighter side of deep house, the Hot Waves saga is perfect for beach parties and sunny days.
The Hot Waves 4 LP starts out with some absolute heat courtesy of Buckley entitled “Back to the Tower.” This is a funky ass a g-house track has Ives St. Ange spitting over the deep house production, giving the song a grimey feel. For those of you who liked the poppy deep house sound of Lee Foss & MK‘s “Electricitiy,”Anabel Englund is back, quickly becoming a staple within the Hot Creations crew, this time teaming up with Human Life on “Falling,” keeping the vibe very club-friendly yet darker than “Electricity” or “Reverse Skydiving”. Denney is also back on Hot Creations with yet another the explosive peak-set track aptly named “Shake the Club,” which is a dacefloor-filler combining a bouncy bassline and cowbell with great buildups and breakdowns. Mike Gil offers up a phenomenal after-hours track named “Furious,” complete with droning bass, eerie vocal sample and atmospheric synth stabs. Also on the darker late-night tip is Julien Sandre & Dast‘s “Reality,” featuring hypnotizing chanting vocal samples.
The do-no wrong label Hot Creations had an explosive 2012, is already showing signs of turning up the heat in 2013. With Benoit & Sergio‘s Bridge So Far EP coming out in the next few weeks, a full LP from super-group Hot Natured (consisting of Jamie Jones, Lee Foss, Ali Love, and Luca C.) and the a whole new sub-label, HOT TRAX being announced only a few weeks ago, I can only imagine what they have hidden in their vaults for this year.
