Yoroku Saki

As I’m always on the hunt for something obscure, and new and unique, I was pretty amazed when I stumbled across Yoroku Saki and his productions.  Hailing from “Boogie Wonderland”, Canada, or straight out of left field, his productions are ingenious ambient, down-tempo masterpieces, dream music if you will.  Forget the stupid sleep sound machines from Brookstone, these works are minimalistic packages that contain lots of precious elements, from hypnotic vocal samples that will carry your mind away to relaxing melody lines with pops of synth as smooth as a warm breeze on your face Mid-July.  Even incorporation of triangle percussions and piano compositions are tied into tracks to add more reason to believe that there’s much more substance beyond the same drum roll and hi hat pattern with loud bass formula that we hear overdone everyday.

Jonas Rathsman

Whoever said that everything in house has been done and is just in a repetitive cycle forever now like fashion, certainly hadn’t ever heard of Jonas Rathsman.  The Swedish producer has a more intrinsic and thought-provoking feel behind his productions.  Although sticking true to the house formula; the repetitive 4/4, the kick drum, the closeness to disco, Rathsman has his own style of changing these simple ingredients up to suit his profound mind.  Whether in the mood for some sexy time or party time, Rathsman’s tracks are capable of taking the mood to just about anywhere.
