In anticipation for Major Lazer’s upcoming sophmore LP, Diplo and crew released the second volume of unreleased remixes to feast on.  On the first volume we saw remixes from Jack Beats, Yellow Claw, DGRC and an extended Major Lazer remix (Listen and download all four tracks here).  As stated in the first volume, the LP release was pushed back a couple of times, and now you can expect to hear the full album in April.  Until then, you can pre-oder Free The Universe now on Itunes and receive “Watch Out for This (Bumaye)” for free upon purchase!

In volume two of Lazer Strikes Back, we get three excellent remixes and a mash-up.  First off, we get a remix that everyone knows plenty about, the game-changing Flosstradamus “Original Don” remix.  If you haven’t listened to that remix, you’ve either just discovered trap music or neglected to recognize one of the best remixes of last year.  Up next we have The Reef remixing “Jah No Partial”.  The drum and bass tune featuring Flux Pavilion gets a rework from Sweden’s The Reef.  Whatever you had previously thought about “Jah No Partial”, throw it out the window and give this remix a listen, whether you liked the original or not, this remix changes it up big time and in huge ways!  Next is newly signed OWSLA artist, Blood Diamonds remixing “Get Free”.  The original is so perfect it’s hard to imagine a remix can hold up the integrity of the original but this Blood Diamonds remixes get’s as close as possible.  Finally, Major Lazer gives us a little mash-up featuring Baauer, Popcaan and Major Lazer.  In “Talk To Me” you’ll hear Baauer’s “Harlem Shake” almost right away, followed up by some Popcaan verses throughout.  Usually mash-up’s are not for me, but this one straight up bangs!

Grab all four tracks here and stay tuned for the upcoming release of Major Lazer’s Free The Universe!
