Two mysterious producers have appeared through the thick of the fog from L.A. to change up the scene and add a much needed fresh element. Though the pair religiously avoids the limelight, their first official release, the Phantoms EP, offers a vivid elucidation of their nightmarish vision. Reminiscent of a sweaty rave in the basement of a haunted mansion somewhere in Romania, the unique sound masterfully matches supremely simple, yet intensely ominous chord progressions together with piercing tribal drums and raw techno synths to create an almost indiscernible insanity suitable for only the darkest of discotheques.

Whoever said moombahton was dead hasn’t heard of the way that Valencian producer, SoniyeMuzick has been weaving new elements into the sound “frame”. His normal sound consists of full moombahton and/or trap; some with a lighter “core” feel and some with more party vibes. Still, his methods of using samples from instruments that are uncommon to the slower genre, make his productions unique. In “Pon Me Tu Eso”, Soniye uses smooth saxophone breaks that add a tranquilizing and hypnotic element that isn’t common in the normal high-energy, horn-blowing world of moombahton.
