Just last week we saw the emergence of a fresh new J Dilla documentary courtesy of Fuse. This 30 minute addition to the series in which Fuse takes a look inside their favorite artists record collections is unlike any I have seen prior to this point. If the legacy J Dilla left behind is something you’re not yet aware of then this is good place to start. In this edition of Crate Diggers we get a very special peek inside J Dilla’s vaulted record collection, along with a little glimpse at Dilla’s old stomping grounds back in his own crate digging days. A majority of the feature is fueled by Maureen “Ma Dukes” Yancey but showcases some special words from his brother Illa J, along with J. Rocc, Talib Kweli, and many other people J Dilla influenced in his blessed lifetime. Twist one up, sit on back, and give thanks to everyone involved in putting this special project together.
