Finland producer Huoratron wastes no time in getting down to business on his remix of “Sad Eyes,” off the third Crystal Castles LP released last year, with a Prodigy-sounding beat laid over the original within the first few seconds. Then Alice Glass‘ haunting, far-out vocals come in and Huoratron begins to pick up the intensity, bringing the track up and dropping it wherever he sees fit with a bell that instantly brings to mind Daft Punk‘s Alive 2007. I have never heard of anyone complaining that Crystal Castles aren’t dark enough, but Huoratron takes it in his own hands to flip the track and make it sound even more terrifying than the original- and I am finding myself constantly hitting the repeat button on it.
