Once again, Mad Decent subsidiary, Jeffree’s proves to be a taste-maker and cultural melting pot of music. When Jeffree’s started out, the likes of Djemba Djemba, Three Loco, UZ, Clockwork, Gent & Jawns and even Baauer’s “Harlem Shake” was released via Jeferee’s. No wonder Mad Decent is killing the game. There is no way any other label can release this much music and still stay diverse and fresh with every release.
Today’s Jeffree is a tune from Cadenza & Nasher, two Londoners that have obviously been dabbling in the drum and bass and dubstep production game for some time. This track feels new and fresh for drum and bass. A breathe of fresh air in a genre that’s been around for a long time. The track starts with really deep sub-bass and then suddenly a anonymous UK badman comes in to spit out a couple lines. A subdued and distorted voice carries a melody while the tune progresses. Honestly this tune goes hard, and it should be no surprise coming from the drum and bass capital. Read what Mad Decent had to say about the track below.
Mad Decent had to say this about the track…
“Gyal Town” is a special collab for the latest Jeffree from Londoners, Cadenza, and Nasher.
Cadenza has a long history with fat bass, so it’s no surprise to see such a sophisticated style of blended sounds and rhythms from him. Nasher, a natural performer who placed 2nd in a UK DJ competition at the age of only 14 and, since the age of 17, is now playing on KISS100, energizes “Gyal Town” through raw talent.
Nasher takes you places in only minutes. From the future-juke toms that start off the track to the chopped, eerie vocals in the “amen break, “Gyal Town” is a colorful collage of sounds that will rock dance floors around the world.
