Daughter, a three piece band hailing from London are getting set to release their newest LP, If You Leave, on April 30th, but until then the trio has enticed us with a outstanding cover.  Perhaps they’re taking notes from the hype machine that is Daft Punk.  Whether or not you enjoy cover songs, remixes and reworks of Daft Punk, put your opinions aside and give this track a listen (or three).  Fans of The xx will undoubtably find connections to the track.

The cover of “Get Lucky” is stripped down, and then delicately put back together in a rendition that nobody saw coming.  Simplicity reigns king on this new cover.  Daughter’s lead-lady, Elena Tonra, softly whispers us each lyric on the track while the bass thumps in the background and guitar riffs and licks reverberate far in the distance.  Daughter notes that this cover was recorded live yesterday for Huw Stephen on BBC Radio One Live Lounge.  Sit back and enjoy this cover for your Sunday afternoon.
