Hot Creations‘ deeper and darker offshoot, HOTTRAX, dropped it’s second release today on us, unleashing a certified underground future classic from Patrick Topping. HOTTRAX has been described by label-owner Jamie Jones as being an imprint more “dedicated to a more underground dance floor orientated aesthetic, only for the headstrong,” essentially displaying the aggressive club tracks that don’t quite fit in Hot Creation’s beach-ready vibes. With the first HOTTRAX release being Jamie Jones’s chart-topping EP Changes (which featured the heavy-hitting “Road To the Studio (Fly Edit)”), I knew that they would really need to dig up a powerful piece of production to follow it up, and boy did Topping bring it with his Walk On EP!
“Walk On” is simply vicious by all means. Down at WMC, this track was championed by the entire Hot Creation‘s crew, always receiving an excellent response from the crowd. This club-ready track starts out with a funky drum-line and screeching synths before absolutely erupting with growling bass. “Walk On” is sure to catch the dance-floor by surprise, and literally floors the crowd on a set of club speakers. The massive title track is accompanied by an extremely groovy B-side track, “What Do You Mean.” This enchanting tune has trippy elements constantly fading in and out everywhere, but a rolling bassline that glues it all together. “What Do You Mean” is sure to have the crowd mesmerized but energized throughout.
“Walk On” provides a ferocious track for any DJ’s club set. It’s essentially guaranteed to get the whole place going nuts. Be sure to follow Patrick Topping on Facebook and SoundCloud and watch out for HOTTRAX in the coming months!
