DBJK9961-2469955599-O (1)On Monday it was officially announced, David Heartbreak has been added to the already ridiculously stacked arsenal of geniuses that the record label, OWSLA has signed. Whether you know OWSLA for Skrillex or Zedd or Nick Thayer or The M Machine or Alvin Risk (I could be here all day naming all the biggest projects in dance music…), if you haven’t been sleeping under a rock for the past few years, you know about OWSLA, especially in this community. Known for bringing the most talented producers under one name, OWSLA sources the dance scene (and mainstream in general) with a vast majority of the music we hear today, directly or indirectly.

Heartbreak has been hard at work for a number of years producing with an insane amount of free material and releases under his belt (22 free EPs to be exact). After having a friendship with Sonny (Skrillex) and the guys behind OWSLA for a while now, David’s authentic sound and never-stop grind have landed him signed to the label and gearing up for the next project to be released “The Foundation”. The seven track project will keep the audiences guessing as not one track will be similar to the next; dabbling in everything from dub (no, not dubstep) to the heavy “acid aggro” that we’ve had a taste of before, and beyond. Slated to release sometime in mid May, “The Foundation”, will be Heartbreak’s first official release with the powerhouse label (besides his official remix of Skrillex’s “Make It Bun Dem”).As Heartbreak was officially the first person I ever interviewed (click here to read it), as well as a personal friend and one of the hardest working people that I know. Personally and collectively as a site, its close to impossible to express how happy that we are to see Heartbreak continue to succeed and pick up more and more momentum with his career as the days go by. We wish him and the OWSLA label / brand the best of luck and a bright future with their new partnership. Onward & upwards…
