Ohh college life…. How I miss the days of learning information that seemed like dire knowlegde, partaking in an abnormal amount of social gatherings, and the last minute cramming before an impending test. For those still striving for higher education, there is a light at the end of the tunnel! And if you are fortunate enough to attend DePaul University in Chicago, you are treated for your hard work with an annual showcase event called FEST.
In the past, the members of FEST have brought the likes of Lupe Fiasco, Chromeo, Ludacris and Portugal. The Man to “The Quad” each spring for an evening of music, socializing, and entertainment amongst students. This years festivities were above the call of duty as DePaul brought in the reigning king of electronic music for a intimate set outside. Diplo turned the crowd upside down as the sun set and the star came out. Dropping original tracks like “Express Yourself” and “Keep It Gully”, hip-hop jams like “Woke Up In A New Bugatti” and “Mercy”, and even played some of Daft Punk’s new material for attendees. Big thanks to DePaul for allowing us to attend and bigger thanks to Joe Kosin who masterminded this years event!
