Sunday, June 30 2013
The String Cheese Incident is back for it’s 3rd year as the festival’s headliner and is the heart and soul of Electric Forest. This jam band from Colorado consisting of Michael Kang (acoustic/electric mandolin, electric guitar and violin), Michael Travis (drums and percussion), Bill Nershi (acoustic guitar,lap steel guitar and electric slide guitar), Kyle Hollingsworth (piano, organ, Rhodes and accordion), Keith Moseley (bass guitar) and Jason Hann (auxiliary percussion) pull out all the stops in their live performances. You can expect to hear anything from bluegrass to rock, electronica, calypso, country, funk, jazz, Latin and reggae making for a show that is always one of a kind. The unbelievable raw talent combined with an outstanding stage production will have you begging for more, once you allow yourself to get a little “cheesy”. Be sure to check out one of their many performances throughout the festival at the main stage.
:: SuckerPunch ::
Thursday, June 27 2013
SuckerPunch is a super group consisting of Marc Brownstein and Aron Magner of the Disco Biscuits, Jamie Shields of The New Deal, and Mike Greenfield of Lotus. After forming in 2003, SuckerPunch has only played a handful shows over the years making for Thursday’s Ranch Arena performance, a very special one. You can expect this jam-tronica band to play some familiar tracks, but you better believe that they will have something funky up their sleeves.

Movement Curated Event
Friday, June 28 2013
22 year old Henry Steinway is the brainchild behind two successful EDM projects, Clockwork and RL Grime. After attending the Clockwork show at this year’s Spring Awakening Music Festival at Soldier Field in Chicago, I swore I would never miss another show by Henry. This talented producer brings the heat whether he’s throwing down hard hitting electro beats that I like to call “stompin music” or running the trap; he’s sure to get you in the party mood with some quality music.
:: Pretty Lights ::
Sunday, June 30 2013
Derek Vincent Smith a.k.a. Pretty Lights, will be closing out Electric Forest festival on the main stage Sunday night. This will be a true treat for all music lovers and a perfect way to end the weekend. Known for his ability to create masterpieces of out digital samples, Derek is an anamoly in the electronic dance music world. His new album “A Color Map Of The Sun” that will be released July 2, 2013, was produced completely by homemade vinyl samples making for a true work of art. You can expect this set to be a “Listening Party” for his new album and there is no doubt in my mind that this set will be one of the most talked about of the weekend.
:: Fool’s Gold Clubhouse ::
Brooklyn based independent record label, Fool’s Gold, took their talents on the road to bring to you the Fool’s Gold Club House party- Electric Forest addition. Founders A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs will take over the Tripolee stage at 4:30 to bring you close to 11 hours of the best hip hop and electronic acts in the business. Fool’s Gold has been responsible for some of the most popular songs that you can’t get enough of, from trap bangers to raunchy raps, these guys know how to give the people what they want, raw talent. And don’t forget how many of their “friends” are also going to be at the festival performing, so don’t be surprised when this stage gets rowdy and just doesn’t stop. Here are some of the artists that we at The Dankles are looking forward to.
:: Just Blaze ::
A true hip pop legend and Jay-Z’s former producer, Just Blaze, has made a return to the spot light after teaming up with Mr. Harlem Shake himself, Baauer to bring us the monster track known as “Higher”. Just Blaze has found himself back on the road DJing across America on tour with mostly Baauer and getting back to his roots of sharing hip pop with the people. Look for a cold blooded set from this east coast all star.
:: Flosstradamus ::
The trap kings of Chicago were a late addition to the Electric Forest lineup, but as they say, “Better late than never”. After a monster performance in their hometown for Spring Awakening Music Festival, it is a no-brainer why this duo will be throwing down at this type of party. They recently dropped a new video for “Crowd CTRL” that is so rowdy you’ll find yourself naturally mean muggin’ your screen. Its almost like these guys can do no wrong at this point and that’s thanks to Fools Gold. If you’re trying to get turnt up, Flosstradamus is the group for you.
:: Danny Brown ::
The most popular haircut and smile in the rap industry, Danny Brown, has been on top of his game all year and he’s ready to bring it to the forest. This wild child as been one of the fastest rising stars and it’s for good reason. His raps can be as smooth as in hit music video, “Grown Up” or as grimy as his b-side track “Blunt After Blunt“. Born and raised in Detroit, expect Danny Brown to go all out for his home town festival crowd and he might even let it all hang out…again.
:: A- Trak ::
The mastermind behind all that is Fool’s Gold will be closing out the night with what should be a set for fans of all of his projects. Alain Macklovitch, better known as A-Trak, had early success by winning the DMC World DJ Competiton at 15, which led him to be one of the top turntablist in the industry. You can expect this set to be a wild one filled with an array of dubstep, hip-hop, electro, trap and our favorite house music songs. Plan on being blown away by one hell of a finale to this Fool’s Gold Party.
