In the past couple days, multiple quality music videos were released by Earl Sweatshirt, A$AP Ferg, The Weeknd, and Run the Jewels.  Each of these videos is worth watching for their own reasons; Earl’s video is dark, weird, and serious, A$AP Ferg and A$AP Rocky practically showers in gold jewelry, EL-P and Killer Mike go on an adventure to rescue their kidnapped puppet named killums, and The Weeknd goes on a sexual Asian journey.

Hive – Earl Sweatshirt (feat. Vince Staples & Casey Veggies)

Every music video put out by an Odd Future artist is pure gold. Videos are something these guys take very seriously whether the video is serious or not. Earl’s debut album, Doris, is set to release August 20th and is well anticipated as Odd Future’s youngest emcee was forced to stop recording while spending time in Samoa.  Earl calls upon Vince Staples and Casey Veggies to spit on “Hive”.  Vince Staples’ verse on this track is probably my favorite of his to date and Casey Veggies throws in a few words to ease the transition between verses.  This ominous track was produced by Matt Martians and the video was directed by Hiro Murai.

Shabba – A$AP Ferg (feat. A$AP Rocky)

A$AP Ferg has been sitting shotgun to fellow A$AP Mob member, A$AP Rocky for some time now and is eager to make a name for himself.  Almost two years after A$AP Rocky’s mixtape, LiveLoveA$AP, Ferg is releasing his debut album Trap Lord, on August 20th.  In my opinion, A$AP Ferg and A$AP Rocky are the only quality rappers in their crew from Harlem, NYC.  Ferg has one of my favorite verses in “Kissin’ Pink” off Rocky’s LongLiveA$AP  and I have fairly high expectations to see how Ferg does on his own.  In this video, both rappers “got 8 gold rings like Sha-Shabba Ranks” and are straight ballin’.

36″ Chain – Run the Jewels

Run the Jewels is a collaborative group consisting of EL-P and Killer Mike, with EL-P providing the production.  These two work too well together and I think they should always make music together.  The dou started their Run The Jewels project as something do to for fun, a way for them to celebrate their successes with R.A.P. Music and Cancer for Cure in 2012.  EL-P produced for Killer Mike on R.A.P Music, so it was natural that these two would team up to have some fun in the studio, but to put out a full length album for free was too sick.  Enjoy watching these two go on a rampage to rescue their puppet, Killlums, in this video for 36″ Chain.

Belong To The World – The Weeknd

This marks The Weeknd‘s secong video from forthcoming LP, Kiss Land, set to release late summer. The theme for this LP is asian girls as you can see in the video, and I’m sure it’ll filled with lyrics about lean and ladies.  This music video is crazy and I think it deserves to be called a mini movie over a music video.  The Weeknd just did his first interview with complex, which is definitely worth a read, and is making a name for himself as a sort of modern day Michael Jackson. Make sure you catch The Weeknd on tour with the ever seductive Banks as his opener.
