With the ever growing popularity of electronic music, many record labels have seen a rise in attention. Perhaps the most prominent has been French Express. Founded a few years back by producer Perseus the label and its roster have been hailed as some of the hottest acts in the business currently. French Express has traveled the world and back; playing to sold out crowds all over the globe. The newest rising star in the group is former Chicago resident Moon Boots. His brand of nu-disco and funk is complex and intelligent; much like the man himself. He has produced lush remixes for artists such as Little Boots and fellow up and comers Bondaxas well as originals such as his track, “Love Strong”. His most recent release is a remix of the Scottish synthpop band CHVRCHES arriving just in time for their debut LP. The opening track off the LP, “The Mother We Share” was an early single and has been viewed as a standout track off the album. Moon Boots has breathed new life into the track and turned it into a smooth disco hit.
“I love the innocence of the song and the way it plays with the complicated emotions we all have with our parents and siblings,” Moon Boots tells Rolling Stone in a recent interview.
He is able to transform the atmosphere of the track through the disco-style bass lines and dreamy vocals into something that truly feels personal. It’s a sweeping and beautiful remix that is sure to resonate whether you are on the dance floor surrounded by thousands or listening to it all by yourself. Listen below and download it here.
