Since it’s birth in 1986, thousands of people have made the pilgrimage to Black Rock City, Nevada, for a week long celebration of a community founded on self-expression through art and music. The Burning Man community is comprised of multiple themed camps, each with their own art or music installation to celebrate an experimental environment and an understanding community. One such installation calls itself Robot Heart and ritually hosts talented artists like Seth Troxler, Thugfucker and Art Department.
This year, my personal favorite Robot Heart set to surface comes from Life and Death Record Label co-owner Manfredi Romano, better known as DJ Tennis. The set is a beautiful three and a half hour journey woven through emotional techno beats and intergalactic vocal tracks, setting the mood perfectly for Friday morning in the deep Playa. Highlights in the set include Agoria’s new release Scala, DJ Tennis’s remix of Radiohead’s “Everything in It’s Right Place” and Carl Craig’s incredible remix of Theo Parrish’s “Falling Up”. Start your Saturday off right by downloading the set below for free via SoundCloud.
