The sly and groovy track, “Obviously”, is the third single off of Gramatik’s upcoming album The Age of Reason. This sultry tune will without a doubt have you looking for the nearest dancefloor to shake your hips. Brooklyn master of funk Gramatik enlisted the help of Cherub, an electro-pop duo with 80s tinged soulful music, and Exmag, a group of five Brooklyn-based producers banded together in order to “to save the universe from imminent doom”. Together these three create a slinking piece of soulful electro funk. The vocals of Cherub, Nashville artists Jordan Kelley and Jason Huber, lend some serious sex appeal to “Obviously”. They do so by purring lyrics such as “After we dried off I thought we could assume more sexual positions by the side of the pool,” continuing on to sing, “who cares who is watching all the freaky things we do,” over a sticky, sultry dose of bass and guitar. Gramatik and the members of Exmag (Eric Mendelson, Tyler Dondero, Mike Iannatto, Gramatik, and ILLUMNTR) put in noticeable work into the production. They fill it with slinky drumbeats, electro keyboards and a funk-soaked bassline. Definitely download this one. Obviously, “Obviously” is not one to miss!
