When a producer breaks into underground house and techno spotlight, you wouldn’t anticipate his first release to be picked up by the powerhouse Berlin label, Innervisions. Well, Ten Walls did just that when he released his debut material earlier this year in an exceptional three track collection titled Gotham EP. The title track, “Gotham”, soon became a coined anthem of this summer’s festival circuit. Donning a highly addictive synth-line and deep rolling bass, Ten Walls proves the beauty of experimenting with the deeper, more emotional sounds of house music.
Only a few months after his first release, Ten Walls is at it again with a fresh, new three-track masterpiece titled Requiem EP. This time, the EP is being released on Italian born label Life and Death, whose style is a highly praised label that remains anything but mainstream. Striving to constantly evolve their sound, Life and Death was quick to pick up the undefinable artistic expressions offered by Ten Walls’ productions. Ten Walls has also adopted a very different approach to music production than most of his industry peers. His musical mission is one where “the focus is moved away from the personality of the artist so that the music can more directly speak for itself,” a concept which is all too rare in the industry today. All three tracks in Requiem have been charted by the likes of DJ Tennis, Maceo Plex and Tale of Us, just to name a few.
