Wave Racer

The Future Classic label is at it again. This summer the Australian music label signed Wave Racer into their elite mix of groundbreaking electronic artists. Wave Racer is known for being heavily inspired by Rustie, Sinjin Hawke and Cashmere Cat. As soon as any of his tracks drop, you can hear their influence through his synth-heavy sound laced with fluctuating fast-tempo beats.

Just yesterday he released a remix to Panama’s blog-exploding track “Always”. Wave Racer took the vocal heavy track and turned it into a synth-bursting anthem. He’s raised the vocals to a (for lack of a better term) chipmunk like pitch. This vocal edit takes the focus away from the words and emphasizes the noise. It’s a fast paced dance track that’s fun, lighthearted and uplifting.

Another notable remix to Panama’s “Always” is by Classixx.

As soon as Wave Racer was signed to Future Classic, they released his two-track EP. The EP includes the songs “Stoopid” and “Rock U Tonite”. Each track contains no vocals. Wave Racer seems truly passionate about his sound design within these tracks. This EP is a fabulous intro on what to expect from him. He has a graceful way of balancing sound and energy to create unique, electronic songs. I’m sincerely looking forward to what he brings next.
