London natives Kai Campos and Dominic Maker, better known together as Mount Kimbie, have been paving the way for the regeneration of the ambient-dub club scene in the UK and around the world. Earlier this year, the two proved that their sound was here to stay by releasing their sophomore record on Warp titled, Cold Spring Fault Less Youth. Album highlights include a meticulously crafted house track titled “Made to Stray,” coined as the album’s only track that could equally please an intimate after-hours crowd as well as a packed floor in London’s esteemed club, Fabric. Mount Kimbie outlines their track “Made to Stray” with a thumping bass line in tandem with alluringly sexy male vocals, attracting the attention of a veteran in the electronic music scene, DJ Koze.
Pampa Records head-man DJ Koze, often coined as one of Germany’s most experimental musicians yet, brings us his remix of Mount Kimbie’s “Made to Stray” as one of the four official album remixes in a compilation titled CSFLY Remixes. DJ Koze has his way with the track by stretching the original track out into a deep and sexy slow-build house production that delivers a more steady progression than its original. The climax, around five minutes, in will inevitably make your body move, or better yet your clothes come off, as sensational indie lyrics break in right after the muffled bass drops from a synthesized build, a technique coined to Koze’s style.
