Mayhem is known for working magic in the form of trap anthems, most notably his tracks with Antiserum. But Mayhem is no one-trick pony. Atlanta producer Logam showcases another side of the bass wizard in this dirty drum n’ bass track “Orion.” This breakbeat-styled song is for those who like their bass quick and nasty. If you’re familiar with Mayhem’s trap music, you won’t be disappointed. “Orion” is exactly the kind of drum n’ bass you expect from a producer who’s known for igniting the dance floor.

As well as producing electric drum n’ bass, Logam runs Santoku Records, a staple in the small, but persistent American D&B scene. Logam’s production partnership with Mayhem isn’t unexpected, nor is it new. Last year the producers collaborated on this crazy free track, Crypt Keeper.” While Mayhem exploded along with the trap genre, his drum n’ bass roots are evidenced in his work with genre heroes  (check out this 2007 track with Noisia released on Andy C’s RAM Records, Moonway Renegade). “Orion” marks Mayhem’s return to his D&B beginnings and is available for free download – Coloradoans, put this track on repeat in preparation for Mayhem’s massive Boulder show in December, presented by yours truly (buy tickets here!).  Stay tuned for more fast-paced bass from Logam and Mayhem forthcoming from Santouku Records.
