Assuming you’ve been keeping up to date with the Hypem charts, Jacuzzi should ring a bell or two. The Hawaiian native has been on quite the up-swing this fall, and with good reason. The young producer’s collaboration with fellow Hawaiian Mr. Carmack,  as well as his left-field remix of Santigold‘s “Disparate Youth” are nothing short of stunning.  Jacuzzi is set to release his newest EP, Mizu, December 8th, and its a welcome breath of fresh air in a scene that has begun to experience an over-saturation of recycled sounds. “Exodus” – the first single from the forthcoming Mizu – showcases Jacuzzi’s well-refined sense of tension and release. An epic orchestral intro that wouldn’t sound out of place in a film scored by Hans Zimmer gives way to a sub-rattling low end. This kid has some chops and isn’t afraid to nod to the pioneers while simultaneously carving out his own niche. Visual artist Karborn was picked up to craft the visual accompaniment, and kills it with a tantalizing amalgamation of familiar anime clips, as well as some rather risque odds and ends. Keep an eye out for this one.
