As the holiday season comes through in full force, it serves as a reminder that the new year quickly approaches. As the curtains close on 2013, these last few days serve as a time not only to look towards the future, but to reflect on the past and celebrate all that we have accomplished. One group who should be quite proud is French Express. This group of multi-talented producers and DJs have helped to make the record label the one to watch, especially after launching their fully rostered French Express Takeover tour. Without missing a beat, the boys started things off in style with a heavily successful group Boiler Room session, and have gone on to sold out shows in cities all over. The year ahead continues to be bright for French Express, who are already slated for performances at both BPM Festival and Ultra.
The latest track to emerge from French Express comes from Australian native Isaac Tichauer, a producer whose deep house cuts have earned him plenty of attention. After the release of his EP, Take Over You, we saw a period of silence from the producer. Just a few weeks ago however, Tichauer proved he continues to be hard at work by releasing a teaser of his upcoming track “I’ll Let You Go” on Annie Mac Presents, as well as a December mixtape.
Isaac Tichauer’s soulful style has come back in full force just in time for the holidays and he has given fans the gift that keeps on giving – a brand new edit. Appropriately named “Isaac’s Xmas Gift”, the track is available for free, and is dedicated to anyone missing a special someone during the holidays – a sign that this is more than just another track for the producer. Often a fan of mixing R&B and hip hop samples with deeply infectious bass lines of his own creation, this time is no exception. His choice of “I Wish I Didn’t Miss You Anymore” by Angie Stone may not be a surprise to some fans – the producer mixed an acapella version with Omar S’ deep house track, “Always There” back in his July mixtape. This time Tichauer takes on a sound that is stylistically much more house, filled with bouncing bass and plenty of breaks that take Angie Stone’s soulful croon and lifts it up into something much more dance worthy. Be sure to listen below and end your holidays right by grabbing the track for free.
