The UK duo, Jack Beats, are geared up for a massive year with the release of their Beatbox EP through OWSLA and mix 74 for the legendary London-based club/label fabric. Niall Dailly and Ben Geffin are not new comers to the scene, but are already well established due to their involvement in the turntablist movement in the ’90s and early 2000’s. Jack beats is constantly trying to step out of the norm and create forward thinking music while sticking to their roots. Their FABRICLIVE 74 mix is a great example of where they are heading and includes tracks from Duke Dumont, Justin Martin, GTA and Breach to name a few. Check out the 30 minute promo mix and download the complete 70 minute FABRICLIVE 74 here.
“We’ve tried to really represent where we’re going in 2014 on FABRICLIVE 74. It’s a modern, upfront mix containing everything from tracks that are going off when we play them out, to tracks we love but we wouldn’t normally play in our set, via two exclusives from us, forthcoming on OWSLA.” – Jack Beats
The opening track “Beatbox” on the Beatbox EP shows a deeper groove with warm synths and vocal loops, while “The Ill Shit” gives us a more up beat, bouncy house feel that will get you on your feet. I’m sure both tracks on this EP will be dropped in many sets to come because I know I can’t get them off repeat. Stream the tracks and peep the official video for “Beatbox” below.
