Ninja Tune recording artists just seem to be in their own league. After sorting through such redundant and similar sounding electronic music over the years I’ve learned to appreciate the sounds that are less played and obscure. NameBrandSound are two artists reinventing themselves through a new name. Alex Phountzi and IG Culture are behind the production, two names that should resonate with early London bass-music culture. Their focus is a blend of juke, bass, jungle and more for a new brand of sound they label as “Pressure.” Whatever you’d like to call it, from the sound of “Spell On Me” it’s huge and sub-heavy. Their debut EP, Nowadays Pressure, is available April 7th via iTunes.
