artworks-000074587800-zfec4n-t500x500The second installment of a three part EP series by SZA is due on April 8th, and is the first project SZA will be releasing under the direction of Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE). “Childs Play” serves as the second single off the forthcoming EP, and is blessed with a verse with none other than the ever diverse Chance The Rapper. The EP is the first non rap release from TDE and should propel SZA into forefront of contemporary R&B singers considering the last three projects this label released were Good Kid M.A.A.D. City (Kendrick Lamar), Cilvia (Isaiah Rashad), and  Oxymoron (Schoolboy Q). It’s no surprise Chance The Rapper was called upon for this feature not only because of his profound ability to sing high notes and rap in the same verse, but also because of his relationship with TDE. Chance reportedly turned down an offer from TDE last summer due to his desire to remain independent. If you’re new to SZA make sure to check out her EP from last spring (read here).

Using the existing production of “About You” by XXYYXX, “Childs Play” serves as the perfect production for these vocalists as their lulling vocals seems to make me melt into my couch.
