Broke For Free is one of those best-kept secrets that you pull out and whoever is listening  will inquire the artists that is making them smile ear-to-ear.  It is that good.  Broke For Free is Tom Cascino from Oakland, and he’s found a unique sound that is terribly infectious.  The first half of his debut LP Petals was released yesterday.  You might call it chillwave or some other sub-genre nobody’s ever heard of, but his music is ultimately full of feel-good melodies and rhythms.  It’s amazingly laid-back and really beckons the listener to drive with the windows down along any coastline.  The first eight tracks are available for you to listen to here, but head over to his Bandcamp for the full experience and a “name your price” download.
