I’ll be honest when I say that New Zealand producer POLO is a fairly new acquisition to my collection of music. For the last two years his tracks have somehow slipped under my radar, but today I have the pleasure of sharing his recent full length release with all you lovely folk. POLO’s self titled album is chalk full of luscious beats that really show off his left field yet beautiful take on electronic music. With shades of old school Shlohmo, he has a way with lo-fi and poppy genre blending that’s incredibly infectious, while the sampling in his tracks takes the listener away from where they are and off on an ambient and beautiful journey. I see big things in this kids future if he keeps putting out work like this. Pick up the generous free download and see how this polo fits, you may be rinsing it for awhile.
