Mamby on the Beach is back for its second year as Chicago’s premier lakeside festival over fourth of July weekend. React Presents blends the indie-dance, house and techno worlds to create two days of fun in the sun at Oakwood Beach on the southside of Chicago. This year’s lineup includes over 50 DJs and live performing artists with headliners Milky Chance, Animal Collective, Atmosphere, Chet Faker, Santigold, Chromeo, Tale of Us and Local Dice backed by the likes of Thomas Jack, Kaytranada, Lido, Wild Belle and more. Mamby is the place to be this weekend if you want to hear quality music mixed with wonderful summertime vibes.

Billy Kenny

Saturday, July 2, 2016
Mixmag DJ Tent
4:00pm – 5:00pm

This Ain’t Bristol records co-founder, Billy Kenny, will be bringing the “Good Vibes” house to the Mixmag DJ tent on Saturday afternoon of the festival. Besides managing one of our favorite up and coming record labels in the tech house scene, Billy has been busy producing his latest EP, The Horn Thing, as well as collaborating with label co-founder, Maximono, on their track “Must Be” out now on Dirtybird’s Secret Sauce compilation. Billy has an ear for compiling odd sounds with big baselines creating tracks like “It’s Alive” and “Work Me” that are bound to get you groovin’ in the sand.

Gene Farris

Saturday, July 2, 2016
Mixmag DJ Tent
2:00pm – 3:00pm

Local legend, Gene Farris, has been lighting up night clubs across the Chicago-land area for years. His monthly party “Gene Farris & Friends” at Primary Night Club was nominated for “Best Monthly Party” at the Chicago Nightlife Awards and has featured Derrick May, Colette and Mark Farina, to name a few. His highly anticipated debut album, In The Screen, is set to be released on July 8th through Chicago’s own, Relief Records, and will feature collaborations with Loco Dice, Green Velvet, Sonny Fodera, Nathan Barato, Supernova and more. Gene has promised to perform his new track with Sonny Fedora live at the festival, which has added to the already enormous buzz around his set in the DJ tent. Get there nice and early Saturday to kick off the fest with a hometown hero and plan to look your best as they will be filming the music video for the single “Like This” off the new record.

Sunday, July 3, 2016
Beach Stage
4:45pm – 5:30pm

One of the fastest growing acts on the lineup this year is Gallant. After having huge sets both weekends at Coachella, Electric Forest and a special guest TV appearance on Jimmy Fallon, alt-R&B singer-songwriter, Christopher Gallant, is quickly becoming a must-see act, and we couldn’t agree more. His debut album, Ology, takes you on a musical journey with unbelievable vocals raging from sultry to falsetto making it hard to believe such soul can come from a 24 year old. He recently toured with Mind of a Genius label mate, ZHU, on the Neon City Tour in early May which I’m sure he picked up several fans along the way. Be sure to experience a live performance you won’t want to miss on Sunday afternoon and catch his single “Weight in Gold.”
